In front of the House of Government stands the statue of Vladimir Lenin, moulded in the same style. Although not admitting it openly, Minskers seem to sympathize with this statue, describing it as “the only Lenin on a push scooter in the world.” To prove the scooter statement, walk to the square and make sure to watch at Lenin from a side angle. When one day Belarusians wake up to revolutions and start removing Lenin monuments, Minskers will feel sorry about this particular Lenin – a “candid Lenin” who became a true symbol of its epoch. The people who erected this statue seemed to have passionately believed in the ideals of world revolution.
