1980s. PIERAMOŽCAŬ (VICTORS’) AVENUE

PIERAMOŽCAŬ (VICTORS’) AVENUE

PIERAMOŽCAŬ (VICTORS’) AVENUE
This street was initially called Parkavaja Mahistral (Park Highway). When the then leader of Belarusian Socialist Soviet Republic Piotr Masherov died in a road accident in 1980, it was renamed after him. In the recent years, it was renamed to Pieramožcaŭ Avenue, referring to the Victory in the World War II. Bus No 1 will take you along the triumph of the Soviet urban arts.  Near the Moscow Cinema (1980) are the fountains that narrate about Belarusian national festivities. The residential houses across the Minsk – City Hero Stella became part of many architectural textbooks showing how a future Soviet city was expected to look like. Check the availability of tickets in Belarus Expo Center at 14 Pieramožcaŭ – and... souvenirs. Photo by  Katerina Sipaeva
