New Initiative to Restore Birdlife in Belarus


Over 1000 hectares of peatlands will be restored in Belarus. The new programme run by NGO APB BirdLife, Biełavieža National Park authorities and the Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) will re-create the habitat for raptors, owls and woodpeckers,  reports. Biełavieža National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, inhabited by 250 bird species and a favourite destination for birdwatchers from all over the world.
