Palace of Sports

MBuilt in 1966, Minsk Palace of Sports was the most important sports arena for the Belorussian Soviet Socialist Republic and later for the independent Belarus. Today this building is interesting for its architecture. Similar designs can be spotted in Vilnius (Lithuania) , Chelyabinsk and Volgograd (Russia),  and Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine) . Currently, it is mainly used for concerts and for international basketball, handball and volleyball matches.

The area near the Palace of Sports will be operating as the official fan zone during Ice Hockey World Championship.
