TNT Rock Club

TNT Rock Club
Admission: free before the show starts. Call the club to find out the ticket price. On Minsk’s clubbing scene, TNT Rock Club positions itself as a rock bar for those aged 30+. The rock-n-roll fans, known to be forever young in their souls, feel at home here, surrounded by unique musical artefacts like analogue guitars that belonged to Brian Setzer, Jimmy Page, Slash or AC/DC’s musicians. The club was the venue for gigs by Ken Hensley and Bonfire.   The club’s launch was a wild event: you don’t see Angus Young’s look-alike descending down the rope from the roof and smashing a guitar on a balcony under the powerful beats from Drum Ecstasy band in Belarus’ capital every day.

Loft Café

Loft Café
Admission: free before the show starts.  Call the club to find out the ticket price. Having a ‘loft’ is a must for every city with developed clubbing and art scene. The ‘loft’ usually is a nice glamour-free place that preserves industrial charm after being rebuilt from a former warehouse or factory. Loft Café is a regular venue for electro-swing parties, jazz bands, deephouse and nu-disco bashes. Local bands (Apple Tea, Morfe) and foreigners (Mujuice, Satin Jackets, Zoo Brazil and Re:Axis) performed there under the colourfully decorated brick walls and industrial frames.

Big Concert Hall – Belarusian State Philharmonic Society

Big Concert Hall – Belarusian State Philharmonic Society
Admission: check out ticket prices by phone or inquiring the ticket office. We are told the building of Belarusian State Philharmonic Society boasts the best acoustics in the country – all thanks to the 2004 overhaul when only the foundation of the 1963 building was left intact. Classical music stars often perform here. Opera divas periodically run endurance tests on crystal chandeliers under the ceiling. Jazz-rock legends Scot Henderson, Denis Chambers and Jeff Berlin were there, too. Despite its mostly classical format, the philharmonic hall regularly delights Minskers with brave avant-garde musical experimental projects from all around the world.

Hooligan Bar

Hooligan Bar
Admission: free A bearded computer geek or an editor with the popular online magazine wearing Ray Ban glasses who feels deeply sorry about DiCaprio’s yet another Oscar failure or that Arsenal once again will not win the Premier League – that’s how Hooligan’s Drink’n’Dance party regular looks like. Multi-hour debates on who edges who – Daniel Redcliff or Elijah Wood, Flappy Bird or Angry Birds – with deafening tunes from Minsk’s most popular DJs or unplugged gigs by cult-like underground musicians make the recently opened bar one of the brightest spots on Belarusian capital’s nightlife map for Generation Y. It offers vegetarian dishes, reasonably-priced alcohol and free admissions to parties.
